Bitget in Collaboration with UNICEF to Train Over 300,000 in Blockchain Technologies by 2025
The cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has partnered with UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition (GCC) to bridge the digital gender gap through technology education. This collaboration aims to educate more than 300,000 individuals, focusing primarily on teenage girls, by the year 2025.
A Comprehensive Educational Initiative
The GCC is a global initiative spearheaded by UNICEF’s Office of Innovation (OOI), committed to eliminating the digital divide between genders and enhancing technological literacy. Through this partnership, Bitget supports educational programs in Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa while planning expansion into another country to be announced soon. The overarching goal is ambitious: reaching over a million participants by 2027.
Developing Practical Skills
A key component of this initiative is developing a blockchain training module in collaboration with UNICEF. This module will feature gamified tools, online courses, and offline sessions aimed at imparting practical skills to both teenagers and educators. Sandra Vischer from UNICEF Luxembourg emphasizes that “digital skills are powerful tools for ensuring equal opportunities.”
Engaging Blockchain Experts and Developers
In addition to training efforts, Bitget plans to involve leading blockchain protocols and Web3 developers as mentors and partners. This engagement will enhance the learning ecosystem further supported by Bitget’s previous project Blockchain4Her. With $10 million funding aimed at supporting women in Web3 sectors globally, Blockchain4Her has provided educational resources and mentorship for hundreds of women.
The Economic Imperative
According to estimates from UNICEF, girls in low- and middle-income countries lose up to $15 billion annually in economic opportunities due to a lack of digital skills and limited internet access. In an era where nearly all jobs require digital competencies, initiatives like GCC are crucial for closing this gap.
By joining forces with Global Video Game Coalition, Micron Foundation, Women in Games among others within the coalition framework; Bitget aims not only at empowering young women but also at setting a precedent for inclusive technological advancement worldwide—a testament that new technologies should be accessible early on an equal footing for all.
This strategic alignment positions Bitget as both an innovator within cryptocurrency spaces while simultaneously addressing broader socio-economic challenges faced globally—showcasing how blockchain can serve as more than just technology but also as a catalyst toward sustainable solutions impacting millions positively across different regions worldwide.
