WhiteBIT Celebrates the Second Anniversary of WBT

On August 14, WhiteBIT marked the second anniversary of WBT, commemorating its transformation from a token to a coin and its listing on major centralized exchanges (CEX). The celebration also highlighted other significant achievements, including the launch of Whitechain and WB Soul.

Historical Overview and Evolution

WhiteBIT Coin (WBT) was designed as a comprehensive infrastructure project. As the native token of Whitechain, WBT can be used to pay for gas fees. Additionally, holders of WBT enjoy several benefits such as higher referral fees, reduced transaction fees, bonuses on crypto deposits, and free withdrawals on the ERC-20 network.
According to the company, WBT was created based on the vision of WhiteBIT’s founder and CEO, Volodymyr Nosov, who aimed to launch a crypto asset that would become an integral part of the WhiteBIT community’s life. The total supply of WBT is capped at 400 million, with half of this amount locked in the treasury. 54 million WBT were sold during a private sale, with the remaining tokens set to be gradually unlocked over three years as per the project’s tokenomics.
Nosov stated, “Launching our own token is a crucial milestone for WhiteBIT. The swift sale of all planned tokens within 15 minutes on the first trading day indicates the high demand for our initiatives among users. We continuously work to expand and enhance our services for them.”

Listing on Major Exchanges

Following its launch, WBT quickly attracted the attention of centralized crypto exchanges. It was listed on platforms such as MEXC, Bitfinex, HTX (formerly Huobi), and Gate.io. This broadened the audience reach significantly.

Introduction of the Retrodrop

One of the most noteworthy events in WBT’s history was the retrodrop, conducted among early network testers. On August 3, 2023, the Whitechain mainnet was launched, and a significant portion of the token’s supply was allocated for the retrodrop. This initiative aimed to attract not only developers and specialists but also users and enthusiasts, thereby enhancing the token’s appeal and stability.

Launch of WB Soul

WB Soul was introduced as an identifier that enables users to create a digital identity using attributes and Soulbound tokens while maintaining anonymity. The system also rewards holders for staking WBT in Holding. The SoulDrop initiative fosters a sense of involvement in the platform’s creation and development, promoting a more cohesive community.

WBT: Two Years of Achievements

To celebrate the anniversary, WhiteBIT launched a new campaign running from August 14 to 19, 2024. Participants are required to complete specific tasks, such as purchasing WBT, staking coins in Holding, and creating WB Soul. Successful participants will receive a special SBT token and a new or upgraded VIP level for a month, with a prize pool of 300 WBT.
Over the past two years, WhiteBIT has achieved remarkable milestones, including the launch of the Whitechain network, WB Soul, and WBT listing. The company continues to innovate, focusing on user-centric solutions that drive the growth and success of the platform.
In summary, WhiteBIT has made significant strides in the crypto space with the development and success of WBT, establishing itself as a key player in the industry. The future looks promising with more advancements and user-focused innovations on the horizon.
