Bitway (BTW) rose 76.28% between Sept. 7 and Sept. 13, 2026, making it the week’s biggest gainer among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization. Incrypted’s editorial team ranked the assets after several tokens posted significant gains despite the broader market trend.
Bitway’s market capitalization reached $2.12 billion during the period, according to CoinMarketCap. Venice Token (VVV) ranked second with a 28.27% gain, followed by Filecoin (FIL), up 20.95%, and Raydium (RAY), up 20.02%.
The rest of the top 10 comprised Falcon Finance, up 18.07%; ether.fi, up 13.99%; VeChain, up 13.03%; Injective, up 10.31%; Pieverse, up 6.23%; and Pendle, up 5.36%.
Analysts point to derivatives activity and token movements
An X user operating under the name ElonKely linked Bitway’s rapid rise to activity in the derivatives market. According to the user, open interest in BTW futures on Binance approached $1 billion on Aug. 19 before a large number of long positions were liquidated.
ElonKely said open interest had since fallen to $146 million, while the position size of large market participants had declined from more than $100 million to just over $2 million.
The user also pointed to on-chain token movements. Beginning Aug. 24, clusters of large BTW wallets started transferring assets to Gate, which announced the launch of BTW futures on the same day. ElonKely said the transfers may indicate that whales were preparing for further activity involving BTW on Gate, but added that the on-chain data was insufficient to determine whether they were accumulating tokens or preparing to sell.
Analyst ArslanOnChain attributed VVV’s increase to active buying amid pressure from token unlocks. The analyst said one wallet accumulated 181,249 VVV, valued at $3.02 million, over several weeks at an average entry price of about $16.69 before sending the tokens to staking.
Meanwhile, wallets linked to the project team continued to receive unlocked tokens, while Coinbase recently received about 14,600 VVV, according to the analyst.
ArslanOnChain said a large number of short positions further amplified the move. Open interest climbed 120% to $178.96 million, while daily trading volume increased more than tenfold to $815.32 million. VVV rose from roughly $17.50 to $26 as buyers absorbed available supply and traders betting on a decline were forced to close short positions, the analyst said.
Lisk surges more than 1,800%
Lisk (LSK) recorded a separate rally during the same period, with its price rising from about $0.10 to $2 between Sept. 7 and Sept. 13, an increase of more than 1,800%. The move was reflected in the LSK/USDT market on Binance, according to TradingView data.
Analysts linked the surge to the Lisk project team’s announcement that it was winding down its network. Under the new requirements, users must migrate their assets to Ethereum by Oct. 31, while stakers were given access to unlock previously locked LSK tokens.
Experts suggested that the unusual increase was driven by the artificial creation of liquidity needed to allow capital to exit the network smoothly.
