Strategic Partnership to Boost TON Ecosystem

The TON Foundation and Animoca Brands, through its Mocaverse and MOCA Foundation projects, have teamed up to establish a $20 million reserve fund. This partnership is designed to accelerate the growth of the TON ecosystem and position it as a premier platform for content, gaming, and community-centric applications.

Animoca Brands’ Role as TON’s Largest Validator

In November 2023, Animoca Brands became the largest validator of the TON blockchain, pledging to provide financial and strategic support to further TON Play. With a portfolio of over 450 companies, Animoca Brands has dedicated resources to enhance TON’s infrastructure, promoting its potential as a foundation for GameFi and Web3 innovations.

Financial Commitment and Token Reserve

The partnership agreement includes the creation of a $20 million token reserve in MOCA Coin (MOCA) and Toncoin (TON). These funds will support joint initiatives like The Open League, hackathons, and accelerator programs. Following the announcement, the MOCA token saw a price surge, reaching $0.096 before correcting to $0.083.

Introduction of TON Society ID

The TON Foundation also revealed plans for TON Society ID, a decentralized identity system set to empower 500 million users by 2028. This voluntary identifier will enable users to create meaningful digital identities within a new community governance structure.

Further Investments and Future Prospects

In addition to the reserve fund, venture capital firm Pantera Capital plans to establish a new investment fund for TON, marking its second investment in the blockchain. This ongoing financial commitment underscores the growing confidence in TON’s future as a significant player in the crypto market.
