Spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs Report Net Outflow of $347 Million

In a recent development, the cryptocurrency market witnessed significant capital movements. According to data provided by SoSoValue, the American segment of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) recorded a combined net outflow totaling $347 million on February 27, 2025. This substantial withdrawal reflects the ongoing volatility and dynamic nature of the crypto investment landscape.

Bitcoin-Based Crypto Funds Experience Significant Outflows

The majority of these withdrawals were attributed to Bitcoin-based investment products, which saw a net outflow amounting to $275.8 million. Notably, BlackRock’s exchange-traded fund (ETF), known as IBIT, experienced the largest single fund withdrawal at $189 million. Despite this setback, BlackRock still manages assets worth approximately $47.88 billion under this fund.
Following closely was WisdomTree’s ETF under the ticker BTCW, which saw an outflow of $53.8 million while maintaining assets under management (AUM) at around $246.4 million. Valkyrie’s ETF named BRRR stood third in terms of capital withdrawn, losing about $12.8 million but managing over $600 million in AUM.
Other notable withdrawals came from VanEck (HODL) with $10.6 million, Grayscale Investments’ GBTC with $7.26 million, Fidelity Investments (FBTC) with a drawdown of $7.25 million, Franklin Templeton’s EZBC losing about $7.23 million, and another Grayscale product recording an outflow of $5.5 million.
Interestingly, Bitwise Asset Management’s ETF under ticker BITB was the sole fund in this category to record an inflow amounting to $17.7 million during this period.

Ethereum-Based ETFs See Capital Flight

Turning our focus to Ethereum-backed crypto funds: they also experienced significant capital flight totaling a net outflow of approximately $71.1 million within the last trading day alone.
Leading these withdrawals was another ETF from BlackRock labeled ETHA that accounted for an exit totaling around $26.1million followed by Fidelity’s FETH losing around$25 .5million respectively . Completing this trio ,Grayscale’s ETHE suffered losses estimated at$19 .6million .
The remaining six investment vehicles within this asset class ended their previous trading sessions without registering any significant inflows or withdrawals .
