- MEXC will stop serving users from Russia and Belarus to comply with global regulatory requirements.
- Affected users will receive individual notices detailing timelines for closing positions and withdrawing assets.
- MEXC said users’ assets remain safe and warned customers about phishing attempts.
Crypto exchange MEXC has announced that it will stop providing services to users from Russia and Belarus. MEXC said the change was necessary to comply with global regulatory requirements and was linked to a decision by Canada’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Affected users will receive individual notifications explaining the relevant timelines and procedures for closing positions and withdrawing assets. The exchange said users’ assets remain safe.
Users who have not received a notification about the restrictions may continue using the platform under its current terms of service. MEXC advised users with questions about their account status or the process for closing positions to contact customer support.
The exchange also warned users about phishing risks. MEXC said its representatives do not request payments, login credentials, seed phrases or asset transfers through direct messages, and advised users to rely only on its official channels for current information.
The announcement follows an October 16, 2026, update to Bitget’s terms of use that added Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan to its list of prohibited countries. Residents of those countries will no longer be able to use Bitget. Its restrictions also cover several other countries, including the United States, France, Germany and Japan.
