  • Withdrawals and repayments began on Oct. 19, 2026, while borrowers must repay loans by Nov. 19 at 23:59 UTC.

Echo Protocol announced it is winding down after nearly two years of operations. The withdrawal and repayment process began on Oct. 19, 2026, and borrowers face a Nov. 19 deadline before unrepaid loans may lead to collateral liquidation.

The wind-down includes a halt to new activity, the withdrawal of user assets and repayment of outstanding debts. Echo Protocol has stopped accepting new deposits and issuing loans through its Lending product, as well as accruing related interest.

The protocol has also halted new deposits in Strategy and stopped accepting new assets for staking through its LSD product. Users can still repay loans, withdraw assets and complete any required asset liquidations.

Repayment and withdrawal process

Echo recommends that Lending users repay their debt, unlock collateral and withdraw available assets. Strategy users are advised to initiate an exit and complete their withdrawals as soon as that option becomes available.

LSD holders can retrieve their assets through the existing unstaking and withdrawal mechanisms. Holders of aBTC who want to swap their tokens to B² Network will continue to have access to the Aptos-to-B² Bridge.

Borrowers must repay outstanding loans by Nov. 19, 2026, at 23:59 UTC. If loans remain unpaid, Echo may liquidate the associated collateral and use the proceeds to meet obligations to lenders.

After the deadline, remaining positions will move to liquidation or final settlement, depending on the circumstances. The team said it will provide a detailed timeline later for completing collateral liquidations and distributing funds.

Services after the shutdown

Echo Protocol will cease operations after Nov. 19. Swaps through the Aptos-to-B² Bridge will be the only service that remains available.

The team urged users to disregard private requests to transfer funds or sign transactions involving third-party wallets. Echo said it will publish further updates about the wind-down only through its official channels.

Users with questions about asset withdrawals are advised to contact the project through its official Discord server and open a support ticket.

Echo Protocol was hacked in May 2026. At the time, the project’s token fell by more than 11%.
