Law Firm Says Briton Recovered 61 BTC After 12 Years

1 Min Read Tags:

CEL Solicitors says a British client recovered 61 BTC bought through the former Intersango exchange after more than 12 years. The law firm said the claim settled in May 2026 and valued the recovered bitcoin at £3,331,618 at that time. LBC later reported the client’s account.

The recovery is attributed to the law firm

The amount, timeline and outcome come from CEL Solicitors’ case study rather than a published judgment resolving this individual claim. The firm says its client bought the bitcoin in 2011 and instructed it in January 2026. Reporting should therefore retain the attribution “CEL Solicitors says” instead of presenting every detail as independently established.

Intersango was dissolved, not described as bankrupt

Companies House lists Intersango Ltd as dissolved on March 22, 2016. Its filing history records a compulsory strike-off process. A California appellate opinion separately documents litigation over Intersango-linked bitcoin, but it should not be conflated with another well-known lost-bitcoin case.
