eToro Leads Strategic Investment in Extended

In a significant development for the cryptocurrency industry, eToro has led a $12.5 million investment round in the decentralized exchange platform, Extended. This strategic move is not just about financial backing; it signifies a deeper partnership aimed at integrating perpetual futures into ZenGo, a non-custodial wallet recently acquired by eToro.
eToro’s Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, Elad Lavi, highlighted the growing demand for DeFi services among their clients. He stated, “We are witnessing an increasing demand from our users for seamless access to DeFi products.” The acquisition of ZenGo and investment in Extended are pivotal steps toward meeting this demand and expanding eToro’s Web3 ecosystem.

Integration with ZenGo: Expanding Access to Global Financial Markets

The collaboration between Extended and ZenGo focuses on enhancing user access to global financial markets through on-chain infrastructure. By merging traditional financial assets with decentralized trading solutions, this partnership aims to provide users full control over their assets without reliance on centralized intermediaries.
Under this collaboration, eToro plans to incorporate Extended’s perpetual futures trading mechanism directly into the ZenGo wallet. This integration will enable users to trade on-chain derivatives while maintaining complete custody of their assets, ensuring both security and autonomy.

Broader Web3 Strategy and Future Plans

This investment is part of eToro’s more extensive Web3 strategy that seeks to integrate DeFi products into the newly acquired non-custodial wallet, ZenGo. Looking forward, eToro intends to introduce a broader range of DeFi products onto its main platform.
As reported by Extended, by June 2026, their platform had processed over $245 billion in trading volume and supported more than 100 markets for perpetual contracts. The future roadmap includes expanding its ecosystem with spot trading options, real-world tokenized assets (RWA), and multi-asset collateral facilities.
Uriel Ohayon, Managing Director at ZenGo, emphasized the growing convergence between traditional capital markets and digital asset infrastructure. He remarked that “eToro’s investment in Extended reflects a shared belief that the future of trading will be digital, accessible around-the-clock.”
This collaboration marks a critical step towards bridging conventional finance with innovative blockchain technology, propelling both traditional traders and crypto enthusiasts toward an integrated future. As these market dynamics evolve rapidly, such strategic initiatives will likely play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of global financial systems integration.
