Trump Announces Fourth NFT Collection
In an interview with Bloomberg, Donald Trump, the former U.S. President and current presidential candidate, revealed his intention to release a fourth collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). He mentioned the overwhelming success of his prior NFT collections, which were all sold out within a single day.
Trump stated, “We sold all 45,000 NFTs. 80% of the purchases were made with cryptocurrency. This opened my eyes. I’ve released collections three times and plan to do it again because people want it.”
The Success of Previous Collections
Trump’s previous NFT collections have demonstrated notable success, with all tokens being snapped up quickly. This trend highlights the increasing interest and demand for digital assets among his supporters and crypto enthusiasts. However, despite the initial success, the first NFT collection experienced a dramatic 99% drop in trading volume in April 2024.
Trump hinted at the release of the fourth collection during an earlier meeting with NFT collectors, though he refrained from making any promises at that time. He remarked, “I believe in supply and demand. The first, second, and third collections were good. At some point, things might change.”
Support for Digital Assets and Crypto Industry
Trump has been vocal about his support for digital assets and the growth of the cryptocurrency industry in the United States. He stressed the importance of the U.S. not falling behind in this domain, adding, “If we don’t do this, China or someone else will. Cryptocurrency is here to stay, and it’s amazing.”
Previously, Trump expressed his ambition to become the “crypto president” and publicly endorsed the efforts of mining companies in the U.S. Despite a recent assassination attempt at a press conference in Pennsylvania, he remains committed to his goal and plans to speak at the Bitcoin 2024 conference from July 25 to 27.
Trump’s continued foray into the NFT space could have significant implications for the crypto market. His endorsement and active participation in the digital asset sector may drive further mainstream adoption and investment, positioning the U.S. as a pivotal player in the global cryptocurrency landscape.
