Surpassing Expectations: Crypto Card Transactions Exceed $600 Million Monthly

In a significant development for the cryptocurrency world, the monthly transaction volume through crypto cards reached an impressive $600 million in March 2026. This milestone, reported by analytics platform Paymentscan, marks a more than threefold increase from March 2025, when the figure was about $187 million.

The Growth Leaders and Market Dynamics

The remarkable growth in crypto card transactions is largely attributed to increased use of debit and prepaid cards linked to cryptocurrencies. These financial tools empower users to directly spend digital assets at points of sale without relying on conventional banking channels. Notably, RedotPay emerged as the market leader with a substantial transaction volume of approximately $391 million.
Other notable players include KAST and EtherFi, each accounting for around $60 million in transactions. Despite RedotPay’s dominance in monetary terms, EtherFi led in terms of transaction count with over 800,000 operations—nearly double that of RedotPay.

Record-Breaking Transaction Numbers

March witnessed a record-setting total number of operations reaching approximately 2.76 million. According to data from Paymentscan, RedotPay also topped the chart for active addresses, boasting over 144,000 users. In contrast, other services fell significantly behind with fewer than 40,000 active addresses each.
Overall user engagement has been steadily rising as well; by month’s end, nearly 300,000 active addresses were recorded across all platforms.

USDT Dominance and USDC’s Rising Influence

Throughout its history of utilization, crypto card users have conducted about 22 million transactions with an aggregate operation volume exceeding $6.6 billion. Despite USDT maintaining its status as the predominant currency within this segment due to its high transaction volumes—its market hold is gradually waning.
Simultaneously gaining momentum is USDC; analysts attribute this growth largely to demand within Western markets where regulatory clarity and institutional support are more pronounced.
Recent regulatory shifts have influenced market dynamics significantly—as seen previously when Trustee Plus halted new Ukrainian user registrations—and Weld Money exited the market entirely following increased scrutiny from national authorities regarding crypto card activities.
This evolving landscape underscores both regulatory challenges faced by industry players but also highlights opportunities arising out dynamically shifting consumer preferences amid growing acceptance towards alternative payment solutions like cryptocurrency-linked debit cards globally—a trend poised only continue expanding further into mainstream fintech ecosystems over time ahead!
