Bybit Announces the Start of WSOT 2024 Trading Tournament

Bybit has officially announced the launch of the World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2024, boasting a staggering prize pool of $10 million. This year’s tournament introduces new features, allowing participants to trade on both centralized (CEX) and decentralized (DEX) platforms, marking a significant step towards what Bybit describes as “the future of win-win trading.”

Inclusive Trading Tiers and Fair Competition

Individual traders can compete in three distinct tiers based on their capital size: lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight. This tiered structure, complete with separate prize pools for each category, ensures fair competition where talent overcomes account size. Moreover, WSOT participants can link up to four sub-accounts to their Unified Trading Account (UTA), accumulating Profit and Loss (PNL) to increase their chances of winning.

Enhanced Trading Efficiency with UTA

Bybit’s UTA is designed to optimize margin calculations across all positions, unify collateral, and enhance capital efficiency. This allows traders to manage multiple positions from a single account, making UTA an ideal tool for competitive trading.

Expanding Decentralized and Centralized Trading

The WSOT encourages traders to leverage Bybit Web3’s DEX Pro platform, enabling the trading of over 1 million decentralized tokens, including memecoins, DeFi, GameFi, and more. Additionally, participants can join the inaugural Web3 Idol contest, where they earn votes through trading and daily tasks. These votes can support up to three projects daily, with a share of a 1 million MNT prize pool up for grabs. The winning project in Web3 Idol will receive exclusive support from Bybit’s CEO, prime listing, and marketing boosts, positioning it as a pivotal event in shaping the future of Web3.

Notable Ecosystem Participation

Over 100 ecosystem partners and decentralized projects, such as MomoAi and Tars Protocol from Solana, and Catizen, KTX Finance from Mantle, will participate in the DEX Pro competition within WSOT. By integrating centralized and decentralized trading, Bybit aims to offer crypto enthusiasts a comprehensive experience of the entire ecosystem.

Commitment to Industry-Leading Practices

Bybit’s Co-Founder and CEO, Ben Zhou, highlighted the exchange’s commitment to creating industry-leading practices for user engagement on both CEX and DEX platforms. According to Zhou, combining these elements allows smaller projects and specialized traders to rise in the competitive rankings, fostering a broader landscape for cryptocurrency adoption.

Prize Pool and Participation Details

The WSOT prize pool is set at 10 million USDT, with additional rewards such as yacht cruises, Rolex watches, and round-the-world travel tickets. To participate, traders need to register for WSOT and maintain at least $500 in their Bybit UTA. Participants can invite friends to join WSOT, increasing their chances in the prize draw.
Bybit’s WSOT has grown exponentially since its inception, with nearly 120,000 traders participating globally in 2023, a 42% increase in trading volume year-over-year, reaching 70.5 billion. This growth underscores WSOT’s significance in the global trading community and its role in driving cryptocurrency adoption.
