Introduction

The Buenos Aires Ministry of Education has entered a groundbreaking partnership with ETH Kipu to integrate blockchain, Ethereum, and Web3 topics into the high school curriculum. The initiative, titled ‘В старших классах Буэнос-Айреса будут преподавать блокчейн и Ethereum,’ will kick off on August 27, 2024, and aims to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge to students.

Educational Transformation

ETH Kipu and the Buenos Aires Ministry of Education have meticulously crafted a new educational program focusing on blockchain technology, Ethereum, and Web3. According to ETH Kipu’s co-founder Romina Sejas, the project has been in the planning stages for several months, highlighting the meticulous effort and collaboration involved.

Comprehensive Learning Experience

The new curriculum will offer students both theoretical instruction and hands-on experience in blockchain and Ethereum technologies. While specific details about the internships are yet to be disclosed, the program promises to deliver a holistic educational experience.

Focus on Solidity Programming

In addition to the high school curriculum, the partnership is working on an online course dedicated to the Solidity programming language, essential for developing decentralized applications (dApps) on the Ethereum platform. This course will cater to 500 participants aged 18 and above, further expanding the educational reach of the initiative.

Training Educators

To ensure the quality of education, 30 educators will receive specialized training in blockchain, Ethereum, and Web3. This initiative aims to provide teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach these advanced topics.

Argentina’s Crypto-Friendly Climate

Following the election victory of Javier Milei, Argentina has shown increased openness towards crypto-assets and blockchain technology. Local governments are even considering issuing their own cryptocurrencies. Recently, the country’s first company with statutory capital in Bitcoin was registered, marking another milestone in Argentina’s evolving crypto landscape.
The partnership between ETH Kipu and the Buenos Aires Ministry of Education represents a significant step forward in integrating blockchain and Ethereum education into mainstream academia. This initiative not only equips students with essential skills for the future but also positions Argentina as a forward-thinking nation in the realm of blockchain and cryptocurrency.
