Bitmain Slashes ASIC Miner Prices Amid Market Weakness

  • Bitmain, the leading bitcoin mining equipment manufacturer, is drastically reducing prices on both current and previous generations of ASIC miners amid a challenging market environment.
  • The company is offering significant discounts by promoting bundled deals and lowered factory prices for its S19 and S21 series miners.
  • Bitmain is simultaneously expanding its hosting services, providing competitive electricity tariffs in diverse locations such as the USA, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Paraguay, and Ethiopia.
  • Despite the tough market conditions with high network hash rates and reduced asset prices squeezing miner margins, Bitmain continues to adapt by emphasizing integrated models combining hardware sales with hosting services.

Bitmain Adjusts Strategy Amid Market Challenges

In a strategic move responding to economic pressures within the bitcoin mining sector, Bitmain has significantly lowered the cost of its ASIC miners. According to reports from [TheMinerMag](https://theminermag.com/news/2025-12-26/bitmain-bitcoin-asic-sales), Bitmain has slashed prices for both older and new-generation models. These reductions are part of an effort to navigate declining miner profitability due to persistent high network hash rates juxtaposed against falling asset values.

Aggressive Pricing Strategies

Towards the end of December 2025, Bitmain initiated aggressive pricing campaigns by offering bundled packages at attractive rates. For instance, they advertised a package deal on December 23rd that included four S19 XP+ Hydro miners along with an ANTRACK V2 container. This effectively brought down the price to approximately $4 per TH/s for devices boasting energy efficiency of 19 J/TH.
Earlier in November, Bitmain conducted an auction-style sale for their air-cooled S19k Pro model (23 J/TH). The starting bid was set at $5.5 per TH/s but allowed customers to propose their own prices. Final costs were determined at the end of the bidding period.

Significant Discounts Across Models

According to internal factory price lists dated December 22nd:

  • S19e XP Hydro and 3U S19 XP Hydro are available from $3 per TH/s.
  • S19 XP+ Hydro is priced around $4 per TH/s.

Newer models have also seen price reductions:

  • S21 Immersion costs approximately $7 per TH/s.
  • S21+ Hydro is priced near $8 per TH/s after applying coupons.

These discounts are indicative of a systematic effort by Bitmain to expedite inventory turnover under current economic conditions.

Expanding Hosting Services

Alongside these competitive hardware offers, Bitmain is actively promoting its hosting services. Their commercial proposals indicate electricity tariffs ranging from 5.5 to 7 cents per kWh depending on location—spanning countries like the USA, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Paraguay, and Ethiopia—plus an additional management fee of 0.3 cents per kWh.
This shift towards a package approach highlights Bitmain’s increasing reliance on an integrated “hardware + hosting” model aimed at stimulating demand amidst a sluggish market.

Navigating a Competitive Landscape

The persistent pressure in the mining sector is reflected in these pricing strategies as network hash rates remain near historical highs while Bitcoin’s price remains low enough to keep hash prices languishing near multi-year lows. This situation has considerably squeezed miner margins and dampened demand for new equipment—especially less energy-efficient models.
Meanwhile, competition among ASIC manufacturers intensifies alongside secondary market sellers putting further downward pressure on pricing.
Although it’s unclear how long these discounts will last due primarily due public silence from BitMain about duration; however experts suggest that such measures indicate company’s strategy focusing quick inventory turnover amidst challenging economic landscape
Earlier this year during May’s WDMS Summit 2025 event where they unveiled their flagship Antminer S23 Hydro model—a move signaling flexibility regarding terms & potential future discounts offered customers—they announced plans opening first US-based plant slated opening either Texas Florida considering new political direction taken Trump administration
However September saw activities subjected increased scrutiny following Iowa Rep Zachary Nunn calling upon Treasury Department investigate operations citing national security concerns despite assurances compliance American laws absence ties governmental entities
