A prominent Bitcoin holder has transferred 500 BTC, around $35 million at the time of writing. The coins were acquired back in July 2012, making the holder’s unrealized profit approximately $35 million.

According to Lookonchain, the investment cost the trader about $3786 at the time. As of the time of this report, Bitcoin is trading at around $70,000.

It is not known why the holder chose to move the funds. The assets were distributed across several new wallets, but the fate of these funds remains unknown at the time of writing.

It is common for such wallets to become active during a surge in Bitcoin’s price. There have been previous reports of a similar occurrence where an unknown major holder transferred 2000 BTC after 14 years of waiting.
