Santiment: Bitcoin Exchange Supply Hits Lowest Since 2018

In a noteworthy development within the cryptocurrency realm, analysts at Santiment have reported that Bitcoin’s supply on centralized exchanges has plummeted to approximately 5.6%. This marks the lowest level observed since 2018. This stability over the past month suggests a growing trend among long-term investors holding onto their coins, thereby reducing selling pressure.

Ethereum Shows Slight Increase but Stays Near Historic Lows

Despite a minor uptick in Ethereum’s exchange volume to 4.6%, it still hovers near historical lows since its trading inception in 2015. Just ten days ago, this figure was slightly lower at 4.2%, indicating subtle fluctuations in Ethereum’s market dynamics.

XRP Whales Intensify Accumulation

XRP is witnessing substantial accumulation by large holders known as whales. According to Santiment, wallets containing at least ten million XRP collectively hold around $68.5 billion worth of tokens, or about 68.5% of the total supply—a peak not seen since May 2018.

Cardano: Major Holders Maintain Dominance

A similar pattern emerges with Cardano (ADA), where wallets holding over one million ADA now control approximately two-thirds (67.47%) of the total available tokens. This accumulation trend persists despite Cardano’s market capitalization having plunged by roughly 71% over the past nine months.
These trends illustrate significant shifts in crypto asset distribution and investor behavior across major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Cardano. The increasing concentration of coins among fewer entities could impact liquidity and price stability within these markets.
Understanding these dynamics is crucial for both institutional and individual investors seeking to navigate this rapidly evolving financial landscape effectively and strategically engage with emerging opportunities in the cryptocurrency space.
