Binance Experiences Massive Capital Inflow

From August 6 to 7, 2024, Binance witnessed a substantial net capital inflow of $2.2 billion, according to DeFiLlama. This significant increase occurred amidst market attempts to recover from a notable downturn.

Market Response to Volatility

The monthly data shows a stark contrast, with the net inflow for the last 30 days amounting to only $3.4 billion. This highlights the exceptional nature of the $2.2 billion inflow in just 24 hours.

Top Platforms by Capital Inflow

Bybit, Gate.io, Crypto.com, and OKX also featured prominently among the platforms with the highest daily net capital inflows. For four out of these five platforms, the daily inflow constituted more than half of their monthly totals.

CEO Richard Teng’s Insights

On August 6, 2024, Binance’s new CEO Richard Teng announced that the daily capital inflow had reached $1.2 billion. Teng emphasized that this was one of the most significant days for Binance in 2024 regarding net inflows.

Amid the macroeconomic climate and yesterday’s market downturn, #Binance recorded a net inflow of US$1.2 billion in the past 24 hours, according to @DefiLlama’s CEX Transparency metrics. This marks one of the highest net inflow days of 2024, indicating strong investor confidence. — Richard Teng (@_RichardTeng) August 6, 2024

Teng also pointed out a price rebound for most crypto assets during this period. CoinGecko data supports this, showing that Binance’s trading volume surged to over $50 billion by the end of August 5, 2024. At the time of writing, the trading volume stands at around $22 billion.

Market Downturn and Recovery

The market downturn from August 4 to 5, 2024, affected not only crypto assets but also shares of industry counterparts and tech corporations. This period of volatility was driven by several macroeconomic and internal factors, leading to a significant market correction.
