Key Indicators Signal Bearish Market Trends

According to CryptoQuant, several key indicators are pointing towards a bearish cryptocurrency market. One significant indicator is the transition of net demand for Bitcoin into the “red” zone. This shift signifies that long-term investors are selling more Bitcoin than what the current market is able to absorb.

Whales Taking Profits Amid Market Changes

Data from CryptoQuant reveals that for the first time since early 2025, there’s been a decrease in wallet volumes holding between 1,000 BTC and 10,000 BTC. This suggests that significant market participants—often referred to as “whales”—are taking profits. Additionally, wallets holding between 100 BTC and 1,000 BTC have also started reducing their positions. The 30-day percentage change turning negative indicates a move away from long-term holding towards selling.

Weak Institutional Demand Reflected by Coinbase Premium

The Coinbase Premium indicator is showing notably negative values. Analysts at CryptoQuant interpret this as evidence of low demand from American investors, including institutional players.

Convergence of Bearish Indicators

Overall, all four indicators currently display bearish convergence: weak institutional demand in the U.S., overall negative demand, and whales entering a selling phase.
Previously reported by QCP Capital was that Bitcoin remains under pressure amid geopolitical tensions. At present writing, Bitcoin is trading near $89,500.
In conclusion, these insights suggest potential challenges ahead for Bitcoin and highlight the importance of monitoring key indicators to navigate and understand market dynamics effectively.
