CryptoQuant: Whales Moved $1.6 Billion in XRP to Binance

  • CryptoQuant said large holders sent about 1.6 billion XRP to Binance over 30 days, the highest inflow since March 2026.
  • The increased inflows could expand XRP’s short-term tradable supply, but CryptoQuant said transfers do not necessarily indicate an intent to sell.
  • XRP traded at $1.33, down nearly 57% year to date, with a market capitalization of about $84.04 billion.

CryptoQuant said on Sept. 18, 2026, that large holders transferred about 1.6 billion XRP to Binance over the preceding 30 days, the highest level since March 2026. The rise matters because it places more XRP in an environment where it can be sold or used for trading, potentially increasing the asset’s short-term market supply, although the transfers do not by themselves show that whales intend to sell.

“Cumulative inflows over the past 30 days reaching approximately 1.6 billion XRP—the highest level since last March,” CryptoQuant said in an analysis attributed to @ArabxChain.

Whale inflows recover from summer lows

According to CryptoQuant, XRP inflows from large wallets to Binance declined gradually after March and reached their lowest levels in May, June and July. The measure began recovering in August, with growth accelerating over the past several weeks.

The resulting 30-day inflow of about 1.6 billion XRP was the highest recorded in the previous six months. Moving more tokens to an exchange makes them more readily available for trading or sale, but CryptoQuant emphasized that whales may also transfer XRP for liquidity management or to reallocate funds between wallets and exchanges.

CryptoQuant said the inflow measure should therefore be assessed alongside net exchange deposits, trading volumes, XRP price action and changes in exchange reserves. Elevated whale inflows accompanied by rising net deposits and trading volumes could indicate a greater willingness among holders to deploy XRP in the market. If selling does not rise correspondingly, the transfers may instead reflect trading activity or asset redistribution.

The latest activity contrasts with July, when CryptoQuant recorded a two-month low in XRP transfers from large holders to Binance. At the time, Santiment reported that large wallets were accumulating the asset, while CryptoQuant noted a gradual increase in open interest in the derivatives market.

In May, Santiment said sentiment toward XRP had deteriorated, with the ratio of positive to negative comments falling to about 1.1 to 1. Around the same period, CryptoQuant recorded XRP liquidity on Binance at its lowest level since January 2020.

XRP market data and ETF inflows

XRP ranked fifth among cryptocurrencies by market capitalization at about $84.04 billion, according to CoinMarketCap. The token traded at $1.33 and had fallen nearly 57% since the start of 2026.

Institutional demand remained a separate factor. Spot XRP exchange-traded funds attracted $110.49 million from Aug. 24 through Aug. 28, 2026, the highest weekly inflow recorded in 2026.
