Record-Breaking Funding Week for Crypto Projects

From July 1 to July 6, 2024, a total of 22 cryptocurrency projects garnered an impressive $620.5 million in funding, showcasing a significant boost in investor confidence in the blockchain and crypto sectors. The leading project, **Iris Energy**, an Australian Bitcoin miner, attracted $413.4 million by selling 39.8 million shares. This funding will help Iris Energy scale to a hash rate of 30 EH/s and explore potential energy monetization initiatives.

Key Investments and Developments

**Sentient**, an AI company, raised $85 million during a seed round led by Pantera Capital and Founders Fund. This capital influx will enable Sentient to launch its test network in Q3 2024 and expand its team by hiring an additional 10 experts.
**Lombard**, a Bitcoin restaking protocol, secured $16 million in a seed round led by Polychain Capital. The funds will be utilized to develop the Bitcoin restaking ecosystem and aggregate new liquidity through partnerships with exchanges like Bitget, Bybit, OKX, and HTX.
**Prodia** closed a $15 million seed round, with Dragonfly Capital leading the investment. The startup aims to create scalable and affordable AI inference solutions using a distributed network of GPUs.
**RedStone**, a provider of modular blockchain oracles, also raised $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Arrington Capital. The team plans to launch its token and expand its workforce.

Other notable investments include **Pi Squared**, which raised $12.5 million to develop Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) transaction solutions, and **SendBlocks**, an Israeli blockchain data management startup that secured $8.2 million.
**OpenLedger**, an AI startup providing blockchain data infrastructure, attracted $8 million to launch its test network in Q4 2024 and expand its team.
**QED Protocol**, focusing on Bitcoin network scaling, garnered $6 million to launch its test network and eventually the mainnet.
**Mamori**, a Web3 security company, raised $5 million to enhance blockchain software security, while **Swords & Dungeons**, a crypto game developer, secured $5 million from multiple investors.

Smaller Yet Significant Funding Rounds

Several startups raised substantial albeit smaller amounts: **Compute Labs** ($3 million), **FreeBnk** ($3 million), **Nubila Network** ($2.5 million), **Cambria** ($2.5 million), **onaji** ($2.5 million), and **MonkeyBit** ($2 million). **Ethos Network** received $1.75 million for its decentralized social app, while **Monad Pad** raised $945,000, and **Nycrypto Labs** secured $800,000 to facilitate the transition from Web2 to Web3.
One project chose not to disclose its investment amount. The Solana-based restaking protocol, **Solayer**, received funding from private investors, including notable figures like Sandeep Nailwal of Polygon and Anatoly Yakovenko of Solana.
