15 Wallets Earn $312K Amid Potential GOLD Token Scam

  • Blockchain analytics firm Lookonchain detected a potential rug pull involving the GOLD token on the Solana network.
  • Linked wallets associated with the project team reportedly generated $312,000 in profits.
  • Initially thought to be promoted by Donald Trump, these claims were later refuted by Trump Coins, who denied any association.

Unveiling a Potential Rug Pull: The GOLD Token Scandal

In an intriguing twist within the cryptocurrency world, blockchain analysts at Lookonchain have identified what appears to be a rug pull involving the GOLD token on the Solana blockchain. This revelation comes after fifteen newly created wallets, which have connections to the project team, sold off 224.5 million GOLD tokens in exchange for 3,178 SOL—equating to approximately $330,000. Notably, these addresses had initially acquired their tokens for only $18,657, resulting in an impressive profit of around $312,000 or a staggering 17-fold return.

Suspicious Activity and Ownership Concentration

Suspicions regarding this potential rug pull arose due to the significant concentration of tokens within wallets linked to the project’s launch. Prior to this large-scale sell-off, Lookonchain revealed that one of the developers held 600 million GOLD tokens while fifteen new addresses collectively purchased an additional 224.5 million tokens for a mere $18,657. Together, these wallets controlled a dominant share of 82.45% of the total GOLD supply.
The centralized control of such a vast portion of tokens led Lookonchain to issue a cautionary message: “Be careful!” This warning underscores the importance of vigilance and due diligence when engaging with emerging crypto projects.

The Trump Connection: A Misleading Promotion?

The intrigue surrounding GOLD was fueled by promotions from an X-account named @realtrumpcoins1. This account claimed ties with Trump Organization and even had followers such as Donald Trump’s official account. These endorsements created an impression among traders that there was a legitimate connection between the token and Trump’s business empire.
However, following scrutiny and subsequent sell-offs—and notably after posts related to GOLD were deleted—Trump Coins issued a statement distancing themselves from any association with the token. They clarified that GOLD was launched by third parties without authorization and emphasized their non-involvement in its promotion or approval.

Legal Actions and Ongoing Investigations

Trump Coins has taken steps towards resolving this controversy by collaborating with relevant authorities to investigate and hold accountable those responsible for misleading investors. The incident reflects heightened scrutiny towards crypto projects linked to prominent figures like former U.S. President Donald Trump.
This development occurs amid increased attention on cryptocurrency initiatives connected with high-profile personalities in politics and business. Earlier concerns from senators Elizabeth Warren and Richard Blumenthal urged regulatory investigations into similar issues surrounding other meme coins like TRUMP.
Ultimately, while speculative trading can offer substantial rewards within volatile markets such as cryptocurrencies—careful research remains crucial before investing substantial sums into new ventures promising sky-high returns but potentially concealing risks below glittering surfaces! As always: buyer beware!
