- Proposal 68 received 99.4% support, with turnout reaching 58% and exceeding the required 40% quorum.
- The approved plan would make ZETA a native SPL token on Solana through a 1:1 conversion.
- A second vote is required to set the migration process and the timing of ZetaChain’s L1 shutdown.
ZetaChain voters approved Proposal 68 on September 20, 2026, advancing a plan to shut down the project’s L1 network and migrate the ZETA token to Solana. The approval allows developers to prepare a second proposal covering the migration and network shutdown, meaning neither step will occur immediately.
Proposal 68 received 99.4% of the vote, while 0.3% opposed it and 0.3% abstained. Turnout reached 58%, exceeding the 40% quorum required for passage. Voting closed at 14:58 UTC.
A second proposal is required
The second proposal will specify the block height for a balance snapshot, the time of the network shutdown, the process for receiving new tokens and the withdrawal of assets from connected networks. It will go to a vote after the swap mechanism is agreed with cryptocurrency exchanges.
Until that proposal is approved, validators will continue supporting ZetaChain and staking will remain available. The team has not announced a specific date for shutting down the L1 network.
Under the approved plan, ZETA will become a native SPL token on Solana. The conversion will take place at a 1:1 ratio, while the ticker, total supply and vesting schedules will remain unchanged. ZETA tokens on Ethereum and BNB Chain are not affected by Proposal 68.
Project shifts focus to Anuma
The planned migration is linked to a change in the project’s focus. The ZetaChain team intends to concentrate on developing Anuma, an AI-powered application launched in February 2026.
According to the project, Anuma has attracted more than 300,000 users and processed over 1 million requests across 35 models. The developers believe that further product growth no longer requires a dedicated L1 network.
ZetaChain was originally developed as a blockchain for interoperability between different networks. The project raised $27 million in 2023 and launched its mainnet in early 2024. Its investors included Blockchain.com and Jane Street Capital.
In April 2026, the ZetaChain network suspended operations after wallets belonging to the project team were compromised.
