- Robinhood Chain accounted for 150,000 UNI, or more than 80% of the tokens burned that day.
- Decentralized-exchange trading volume on Robinhood Chain exceeded $1.72 billion on Sept. 4.
Uniswap burned 184,000 UNI worth about $1.153 million on Sept. 4, 2026, marking the first time the protocol’s daily burn exceeded $1 million and its second-largest daily burn by token count. Activity on Robinhood Chain generated 150,000 UNI of the total, making the network the main driver of the record dollar-denominated burn.
Dune data showed the destroyed tokens were worth about $1.15 million. The 184,000-UNI total also ranked among the highest daily figures in the protocol’s history.
Robinhood Chain accounts for most of the burn
The network breakdown from Dune showed that Robinhood Chain accounted for 150,000 UNI worth $939,911. Ethereum contributed 16,000 UNI worth $100,257, while Base accounted for 10,000 UNI worth $62,661.
BNB Chain and Arbitrum each contributed 4,000 UNI worth $25,064. In total, the five networks accounted for 184,000 UNI worth $1.153 million, with Robinhood Chain representing more than 80% of the tokens burned.
DEX volume surges on Robinhood Chain
The burn coincided with a sharp increase in decentralized-exchange activity on Robinhood Chain. Daily DEX trading volume exceeded $1.72 billion on Sept. 4 before falling to about $1.37 billion as of Sept. 6, according to DeFiLlama data.
Uniswap generated about 80% of the network’s DEX volume. The concentration of trading on the platform was a key factor behind higher fees and the resulting increase in the amount of UNI burned, while reports about the record linked the burn spike directly to increased DEX activity on Robinhood Chain.
Activity began rising sharply in late August. Robinhood Chain’s DEX volume topped $1 billion for the first time on Aug. 30, reaching about $1.317 billion, and surpassed $1.55 billion on Sept. 1. Memecoins and tokenized real-world assets drove most of the activity.
The burn spike followed a notable rise in UNI’s market price. The token gained nearly 20% over the preceding week and ranked among the strongest performers by momentum within the 100 largest cryptocurrencies. At that point, the value of burned UNI had exceeded $300,000.
UNI was trading at about $7.07 at the time of publication, according to TradingView.
