Two Days of Dialogue on Web3 and Digital Assets: Highlights from Unchained Summit in Vietnam

The vibrant city of Da Nang played host to the Unchained Summit Vietnam 2026 at the Furama Resort, an event that fostered discussions among more than 500 participants hailing from over 43 countries. This summit delved into pivotal topics such as digital assets, blockchain infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and regulatory frameworks shaping the next phase of global digital economy evolution.

Regulatory Vision for Crypto Assets

A notable highlight was the presentation by To Chan Hoa from the State Securities Commission of Vietnam. He outlined a vision for a transparent and secure crypto asset market within Vietnam. The commission is focusing on a five-component market structure which includes developing both primary and secondary markets, clearly distinguishing technological management from financial oversight, setting standards for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), and defining governmental roles within this ecosystem.
To Chan Hoa emphasized investor protection through access to regulated services and issuers, full disclosure obligations for service providers and issuers, and safeguarding legal rights. He identified transparency, security, fairness, and sustainable development as foundational principles guiding these efforts.

Addressing Market Challenges

The issue of the ‘gray zone’ in the crypto market was also tackled. Key areas highlighted included combating money laundering and terrorism financing while ensuring data protection aligned with Vietnamese and international laws. The evolving legislative framework supports these objectives through several resolutions that lay down directions up to 2025.

Insights into Market Transition

David Rogers from B2C2 provided a comprehensive analysis of recent structural shifts in global cryptocurrency markets. Following a significant market shock where Bitcoin’s value plummeted due to macroeconomic triggers rather than technological flaws, Rogers noted how this has led to a restructuring towards more institutionalized and regulated markets. Stablecoins have emerged as vital instruments within this ecosystem.

Blockchain Adoptions Across Industries

Justin Kim from Avalanche highlighted real-world blockchain applications including FIFA’s ticketing system for World Cup 2026 built on Avalanche’s platform. Such examples underscore why enterprise-level adoption remains limited but is gradually scaling with innovations like cross-border stablecoin payments.

Tackling AI-Driven Commerce Challenges

Joey Liu discussed gaps in identity management as AI agents transition into autonomous transaction execution roles. Introducing concepts like Know-Your-Agent (KYA) aims at establishing verifiable identities while preserving privacy—a crucial consideration as commerce evolves under AI influence.

Coordinating Efforts at Scale

Junny Ho presented Kaspa Ecosystem Foundation’s approach using Proof-of-Work algorithms to solve coordination challenges at scale with practical applications such as Kaspa VIZO’s coordination market launch anticipated soon.
In conclusion, the Unchained Summit served not only as a platform for sharing insights but also initiated dialogues around positioning Da Nang as a regional digital financial hub—a testament to its growing importance in shaping future-focused regulatory landscapes across Asia’s burgeoning fintech sector.
