In August 2025, the Web3 industry witnessed remarkable investment activity and substantial capital influx through corporate transactions. According to Incrypted’s analysis, there were 128 recorded deals, with financial backing reaching a staggering total of $7.24 billion across 95 transactions. This month spotlighted decentralized finance (DeFi) and blockchain services as key areas of interest.

Major Corporate Investments Drive Growth

The leading deal involved Galaxy Digital, a frontrunner in digital assets and data center infrastructure. The company secured a $1.4 billion credit line to advance its Helios AI Data Center development in Texas in partnership with CoreWeave. This initiative aims at enhancing capacities for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) operations.
Another notable transaction was Bullish’s Initial Public Offering (IPO), which raised $1.11 billion. Key investors included co-founder Brendan Blumer and board member Kokuei Yuan.
TeraWulf also made headlines by receiving $850 million through private placement convertible bonds maturing in 2031 at an annual rate of 1%. These three major corporate deals collectively constituted roughly 46% of August’s overall investment sum.

Investment Distribution: Corporate Dominance

Incrypted reported that corporate investments dominated as the primary funding source for crypto projects, accounting for more than 85% of all deal values recorded during August. Within this category, 25 projects announced raising a combined total of $6.26 billion.
While venture capital represented about 10% of total investments, it led in terms of deal count—65 projects secured over $765 million through venture funding channels.
Additionally, nine mergers and acquisitions (M&A) occurred this month including Ripple Labs’ acquisition of Rail—a specialist in stablecoin payments—for $200 million.

Token Sales Activity

Approximately 50 token sales took place throughout August, collectively raising over $51 million according to Incrypted’s calculations. Heaven emerged as a standout platform by gathering $22 million during its token sale on Solana but refunded users contributing more than $77,700 around $4.8 million due to no hard cap limits being set initially.
