Scroll Plans to Make Network Private Infrastructure for AI Products

4 Min Read Tags:

  • The Scroll team plans to shift over nine months from a public general-purpose network to private, task-specific infrastructure supporting its AI products.
  • Under the current plan, Scroll will migrate the SCR token to the Ethereum mainnet without changing its total supply or tokenomics.
  • Scroll said the update is informational and that the network transition and matters requiring DAO approval will be covered in a separate proposal.

The planned transition reflects Scroll’s new focus on using AI in its own operations and building infrastructure through which AI agents can interact with credentials, enterprise data, payments, private workflows and computing resources. The team said it no longer believes maintaining a public general-purpose network is the best way to distinguish the project and support its new products.

Scroll builds an AI product stack

Scroll said it has made AI a priority in its operations and product development over the past several months. According to the team, core blockchain work that previously required more than 20 engineers is now handled by a much smaller group of specialists supported by AI agents.

While working with critical infrastructure, the team said it encountered a need to limit AI agents’ permissions. Scroll believes blockchain and zero-knowledge proof technology can provide coordination, enforce rules and protect private data in such systems.

The team is developing a related product stack comprising Compass, Compass API, CENO, USX, SCR and Scroll Network.

Compass is an iOS application offering access to large language models and Compass API features, along with VPN and eSIM services. Compass API provides AI-routing infrastructure with access to more than 30 LLM models.

CENO is designed to use zero-knowledge technology to protect credentials, agent context and private computing interactions. USX is intended to handle payments and settlements within the product stack, while SCR remains its governance token.

Scroll Network is designed as a trust and coordination layer that gives agent owners control over rules and data. In the team’s proposed model, Compass generates demand, Compass API routes it, CENO secures interactions, USX handles settlement, and Scroll Network manages rules and trust.

The products are at different stages of development. Scroll said CENO has attracted more than 30 potential customers, including 12 currently participating in a proof-of-concept test.

The team is also working to expand its content and distribution across Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X and LinkedIn.

SCR migration planned for Ethereum

Scroll plans to convert its network into private infrastructure designed around Compass and the broader AI product stack. The team expects the transition to take place gradually over nine months, but it has not yet determined the network’s exact operating model or completed a detailed migration plan.

Under the current plan, SCR will move to the Ethereum mainnet. The token’s total supply and tokenomics will remain unchanged, and SCR will continue to serve as the Scroll network’s governance token.

The team emphasized that its published update is not an official proposal or a vote. Scroll plans to submit a separate proposal covering the network transition and any matters requiring DAO approval after it finalizes the details.
