Investor and “Rich Dad Poor Dad” author Robert Kiyosaki said in a Sept. 15, 2026, post on X that what he called the “biggest crash in history” had begun in stock and bond markets. He said developments in Europe and Japan were spreading to other countries, potentially threatening retirement accounts.

Kiyosaki cited AI hype, the war in Iran, high debt levels and the retirement of the baby boomer generation among the reasons for the crisis he expects.

Kiyosaki links crash warning to debt and AI

Kiyosaki said he had warned about such a scenario in his 2002 book “Rich Dad’s Prophecy,” which he described as an effort to prepare readers for a major stock and bond market collapse.

“BIGGEST CRASH IN HISTORY has started. In 2002, I released RICH DADS PROPHECY. This book was written to prepare people to profit and not be victims of the biggest stock and bond market crash in history […] a crash that was still coming,” Kiyosaki wrote.

He said the crash had started in Europe and Japan in 2026 and was spreading worldwide. Kiyosaki separately warned of risks for holders of retirement accounts, including 401(k), IRA, Superannuation and RRSP accounts.

Kiyosaki compared the potential scenario with the Great Depression, which he said lasted from 1929 to 1954. He also said prepared people could use such a period to build significant wealth.

In March 2026, Kiyosaki said a debt pyramid in the private credit market would cause the coming crash.

Bitcoin, gold and silver in Kiyosaki’s strategy

Against the backdrop of the crisis he expects, Kiyosaki again listed the assets he uses to prepare: a private business, income-generating real estate, oil wells, gold, silver and bitcoin. He has called bitcoin the biggest financial opportunity in history.

“For years I’ve been stating exactly what I have been doing to prepare […] knowing the fake money printing will begin,” he said.

Kiyosaki has repeatedly issued bullish cryptocurrency forecasts. In 2026, he predicted that bitcoin would rise to $750,000 after a global financial-market crash and urged investors to buy Ethereum, gold and silver.
