Colosseum has announced the launch of the Crypto World’s Fair, its first major hackathon in which teams from different blockchain ecosystems will compete on one platform. The online event will run from September 14 to October 12, 2026, and accept projects from Solana, Ethereum, Base, Sui, Zcash, Bitcoin, Tempo and other ecosystems.

The combined prize pool and investment for leading startups will exceed $3.3 million, according to a press release that the team shared with Incrypted. Individual networks will have separate prize tracks, while all participants will remain eligible for the competition’s overall awards regardless of which blockchain they use.

Network-specific prize tracks

Solana and Tempo have each announced $100,000 prize pools for their tracks, while Base has announced $25,000. Organizers plan to release details later for tracks covering Ethereum, Robinhood, Sui, Zcash, Bitcoin and other ecosystems.

Colosseum, whose previous startup competitions focused mainly on the Solana ecosystem, said the expanded format is intended to bring developers and founders together regardless of their technology stack and allow them to compete beyond individual blockchain ecosystems.

Support for Ukrainian participants

Superteam Ukraine will provide Ukrainian participants with mentorship sessions, workshops, practical materials and feedback, as well as access to coworking in Kyiv.

The support program will not be limited to Solana projects. Ukrainian teams developing products on other blockchains, building cross-chain solutions or working on projects outside Web3 may also participate.

Additional support for Ukrainian participants includes awards of up to $10,000 in local tracks, $500 for the best submission to the Startup Ideathon and grants of up to $10,000 for continued project development after the hackathon.

Demo Day events

Superteam Ukraine will hold an online Demo Day on October 9, followed by an in-person event in Kyiv on October 10. Participants will be able to present working minimum viable products, test their pitches and receive feedback before submitting their final Crypto World’s Fair applications.

Ukrainian teams will compete in two categories: Solana Demo and Open Track. The Open Track will cover projects using other blockchains, cross-chain solutions and products outside Web3.

Solana Demo will award $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $200 for third. Open Track winners will receive $500, $200 and $100, respectively.

Teams must prepare an English-language pitch, a pitch deck and a working minimum viable product. They may demonstrate the product live or through a recording. After Demo Day, participants will have time to incorporate feedback and refine their final hackathon applications.
