Pioneering Quantum-Resistant Transactions
MARA mined the first known quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction through its Slipstream service using cryptographic techniques developed by StarkWare researcher Avihu Levy. The experiment did not make Bitcoin itself quantum-safe and did not require a change to Bitcoin consensus rules.
Because the transaction used a non-standard format, ordinary nodes would not relay it through Bitcoin’s public mempool; MARA’s Slipstream service provided a direct path to the miner. A soft fork remains the preferred long-term network-wide approach to quantum resistance.
