Ripple Secures CASP License in Luxembourg, Fully Compliant with MiCA

In a significant development for the cryptocurrency market, Ripple has received authorization for a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). This milestone marks a key advancement following the preliminary approval announced in June 2026.

Comprehensive Compliance with MiCA

Achieving this license confirms Ripple’s complete compliance with the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. As a result, Ripple can now offer its fully regulated end-to-end crypto payment products to financial institutions, corporations, and businesses throughout all 30 countries of the European Economic Area. According to Kessy Craddock, managing director of Ripple in the UK and Europe, this authorization marks Ripple’s entry into the post-transition era of MiCA as a fully compliant entity ready for scaling.
Furthermore, Craddock highlighted that European institutions collaborating with Ripple are eager to expand their digital asset services alongside regulated partners. With this new license, Ripple is well-positioned to meet increasing demand.

Ripple’s Regulatory Milestones

The company emphasizes that alongside its Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license within the EU, acquiring the CASP license places Ripple among a select few digital asset firms achieving full authorization under MiCA requirements. This complements their global portfolio of over 75 regulatory licenses.
As of July 1, 2026, the transitional period set by MiCA ended for crypto service providers. Companies are now mandated to hold comprehensive licenses to operate within the EU market. Notably, since then, EU countries have issued 244 MiCA licenses to crypto asset service providers.
This strategic move positions Ripple as a prominent figure in regulated digital finance across Europe and beyond. It underscores their commitment to compliance while supporting partners’ ambitions for growth in digital assets.
