Revolutionizing Crypto Payments: Truther’s Non-Custodial USDT Card with Visa

In an exciting development in the crypto world, Truther, a prominent crypto payments company, has announced the launch of its non-custodial USDT Visa card in El Salvador starting January 29, 2026. This innovative product enables users to spend USDT directly from their self-custody wallets without needing pre-loading or relying on custodial services. As shared by Truther’s founder, Rocelo Lopez, during an interview at Blockchain Conference Brasil, this move is set to redefine how stablecoins are used in everyday transactions.

A New Era of Real-Time Crypto Spending

The key feature of this new Visa card lies in its ability to deduct the equivalent amount in USDT “in real-time.” For instance, if you’re staying at a hotel and your bill amounts to €30, the corresponding amount in USDT will be deducted instantly. This seamless process ensures that users can utilize their digital assets effortlessly without converting them into fiat currencies.
Additionally, there’s a minimal conversion fee of 2%, and users from Brazil won’t be subject to the financial operations tax (IOF). This tax exemption aligns with Brazil’s ongoing discussions regarding IOF application on cross-border cryptocurrency transactions.

Expanding Horizons Across Latin America

Following its initial rollout in El Salvador, Truther plans to make this card available to all its clients. The company’s strategic focus is on individuals keen on spending stablecoins while bypassing centralized exchanges’ risks. Leveraging its existing infrastructure that handles $40 million daily through integration with Brazil’s PIX payment system and stablecoins like USDT, Truther aims for broader adoption across Latin America.
El Salvador serves as an ideal testing ground due to Bitcoin’s status as legal tender. This initiative paves the way for scaling up services both regionally and globally.

Future Plans and Technological Advancements

Truther also announced plans for geographical expansion using the Swapix API for instant cryptocurrency-to-fiat conversions. After Brazil, Argentina will be next on their agenda, followed by Mexico, Colombia, and Russia—markets selected based on robust infrastructure supporting real-time QR transactions.
Furthermore, Truther intends to migrate its non-custodial wallet from Polygon to Liquid network for enhanced privacy features. The wallet currently supports major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and USDT along with Truther’s proprietary stablecoin pegged to Brazilian Real.
By early 2025 plans include integrating more tokens like one pegged against Argentine Peso alongside Tether Gold—providing users increased flexibility when making payments via QR codes while receiving stablecoins sans gas fees.

A Broader Impact on Crypto Markets

With partnerships underway involving traditional banks integrating stablecoins into their platforms—the projected tripling transaction volumes over next year signifies growing bank participation within this sector—cryptocurrency stands poised at forefront revolutionizing global finance landscape further solidifying role amidst mainstream economics today!
