StablecoinX Secures $530 Million for Ethena Token Buyback and Nasdaq Debut

In an exciting development for the cryptocurrency world, StablecoinX has successfully raised $530 million in a private placement (PIPE) to support its treasury associated with Ethena. The funds will be utilized to purchase approximately 3 billion ENA tokens, setting the stage for the company’s listing on Nasdaq.

New Investments Strengthen Ethena Ecosystem

StablecoinX Assets Inc., in collaboration with TLGY Acquisition Corp., announced this significant fundraising achievement, increasing their investment pool to $890 million. Notable investors include Brevan Howard, Susquehanna Crypto, IMC Trading, as well as long-standing partners like Dragonfly and ParaFi. This strategic financial move is aimed at enhancing liquidity within the ecosystem while supporting sustainable growth of Ethena’s products such as USDe and USDtb.

Ethena Foundation’s Ambitious Buyback Program

The Ethena Foundation has concurrently launched a substantial buyback program worth $310 million for ENA tokens. This initiative raises the total announced market purchases to an impressive $570 million. According to Mark Piano, Director of the Ethena Foundation, these efforts are designed to ensure long-term alignment through collaborative agreements and locked token mechanisms introduced earlier this year.
“This additional funding elevates the ecosystem’s resilience, deepens ENA liquidity, and supports sustainable development of USDe, USDtb, and future products,” Piano remarked.

Milestones in Stablecoin Development

Guy Young, Founder of Ethena Labs and advisor at StablecoinX, highlighted notable achievements since initial PIPE funding was first disclosed. He pointed out that USDe circulation has more than doubled to over $12 billion. Moreover, a partnership with Anchorage Digital Bank aims at launching USDtb into domestic markets under compliance with newly enacted GENIUS legislation.
Young emphasized that StablecoinX’s enduring capital base combined with expanded resources will bolster the protection of the Ethena ecosystem while advancing its mission.

Corporate Governance Enhancements

To strengthen corporate governance structures amid these developments, StablecoinX established a new advisory board led by Rob Hedick from Dragonfly. The board will concentrate on governance models, partnerships, and ensuring long-term value creation for shareholders.
Such strategic moves are anticipated not only to restore trust but also rejuvenate interest within the broader crypto community regarding the potential of stablecoins linked with robust ecosystems like that of Ethena.
This development comes amidst a turbulent history involving challenges faced by Ethena Labs’ stablecoins including instances where regulatory measures impacted their market dynamics. Despite past hurdles such as February’s private token sales raising $100 million or March’s temporary prohibition by BaFin due to non-compliance issues leading up till June when resolutions were negotiated—these recent endeavors mark significant steps towards regaining confidence among stakeholders globally.
