BitMine Increases Reserves by $2.2 Billion with Focus on Ethereum

In a remarkable move in the cryptocurrency sector, BitMine Immersion Technologies has announced a substantial increase in its digital asset reserves, focusing heavily on Ethereum. As of August 24, 2025, the company’s reserves have surged to over $8.8 billion. This includes an impressive collection of more than 1.71 million ETH and additional holdings of 192 BTC alongside $562 million in fiat currencies.

Dominating the Ethereum Market

BitMine’s strategic accumulation has positioned it as the leading entity worldwide concerning Ethereum reserves. It is also ranked second among all crypto treasuries globally, only falling behind Strategy, which boasts more than 629,000 BTC valued at approximately $71 billion. According to their press release, BitMine launched its focused strategy for accumulating Ethereum on June 30 and remarkably increased its assets by nearly 200,000 ETH within just six weeks.

Significant Growth and Strategic Investments

The company further reported an increase in their combined cryptocurrency and cash reserves by $2.2 billion to reach a total of $8.8 billion, including about 190,500 ETH specifically added during this period.
Thomas Lee, Chairman of BitMine’s Board of Directors, highlighted their objective to acquire up to five percent of the total available Ethereum supply: “This marks our second consecutive week attracting institutional capital at such a pace.”

Ethereum as a Major Investment for Future Integration

Lee emphasized that Ethereum represents one of the most significant macro-investments expected over the next decade or longer. He believes this network will form an essential foundation for integrating artificial intelligence with financial systems.
