Bitcoin has experienced a remarkable week with significant price movements and institutional interest. On July 7, 2025, Bitcoin surged to $109,000 following the U.S. administration’s decision to delay tariffs implementation. This momentum led Bitcoin to achieve new all-time highs twice more during the week, resulting in a weekly increase exceeding 9%. At the time of reporting, Bitcoin stood at $117,807.
Sector-wise, major institutional players like Metaplanet expanded their holdings significantly. Additionally, Australian firm DigitalX secured direct investments worth AUD 20.7 million ($13.5 million) for its cryptocurrency treasury expansion.

Ethereum’s Rise and Institutional Interest

Mirroring Bitcoin’s trajectory, Ethereum also showed an upward trend this week by breaking past the $3000 mark. The asset recorded an impressive weekly growth of over 18%, trading at $2956 on Binance at press time.
In terms of institutional activities, GameSquare announced plans to establish a treasury based on Ethereum with an investment target up to $100 million. SharpLink Gaming further solidified its position as Ethereum’s largest public holder by acquiring an additional 10,000 ETH from the Ethereum Foundation.

The TON Foundation Controversy

The TON Foundation found itself embroiled in controversy after announcing that Toncoin holders could secure UAE “golden visas” through staking significant amounts of their cryptocurrency. This claim was promptly refuted by UAE authorities, leading to a spike followed by volatility in Toncoin prices.

pump.fun Token Sale Announcement

On July 9th, pump.fun revealed plans for their upcoming token sale set for July 12th. They will release 15% of their total supply of one billion tokens across multiple platforms.
Interestingly enough, before this official announcement took place platforms such as Gate.io had already prepared pages for the sale but subsequently removed them; Bitget also pre-emptively released news about this event ahead of schedule.
