The perpetrators behind this scheme cleverly masked their intentions by posing as employees of the reputable InnBucks Investment. They utilized social media channels to reach potential victims, enticing them with guarantees of high profits. Once convinced, individuals transferred their funds using the Ecocash service to accounts unknown to them.
To make their operation appear genuine, fraudsters employed advertisements boasting high yields and shared links redirecting users to a counterfeit website. Here, they assured investors of the safety and absence of hidden fees associated with their investments. To further legitimize their scam, they requested personal details via WhatsApp.

False Promises and Real Consequences

A typical message from these swindlers read: “Here’s an opportunity to triple your investment without any hidden charges or withdrawal fees—100% safe and secure.” Many unsuspected victims were convinced by such messages and sent their money only to realize later that it was all part of a well-orchestrated fraud.
Meanwhile, InnBucks has stepped forward disassociating itself entirely from these activities. The company released an official statement emphasizing that it does not engage in such investment schemes. They strongly advised clients to verify information through official channels before sharing personal data.

Investigative journalism revealed that scammers used the name Michelle Chiunda alongside a WhatsApp number reportedly registered without her knowledge. Chiunda claims her identity was exploited without consent; however, her last name unfortunately matched that used in the fraudulent scheme.
