Bitcoin and Ethereum Spot ETFs Witness Capital Inflows

On September 10, 2024, the American sector of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs recorded a net daily capital inflow, signaling a positive shift after a prolonged period of outflows. According to SoSo Value, the inflows amounted to $116.96 million for Bitcoin ETFs and $11.44 million for Ethereum ETFs.

Bitcoin ETFs Show Positive Dynamics

The spot Bitcoin ETFs displayed a positive trend for the second day in a row, following a lengthy outflow period from August 27 to September 6. The three notable Bitcoin ETF products that showed significant capital inflows were:

  • FBTC: $64.16 million
  • ARKB: $12.68 million
  • BTC: $41.13 million

The BTC fund, known as Bitcoin Mini Trust by Grayscale Investments, was launched in late July 2024. Other Bitcoin ETF products did not experience any capital movements.

Ethereum ETFs See First Inflow in Seven Days

For the first time in seven trading days, spot Ethereum ETFs recorded a net daily capital inflow. This positive trend was observed in two Ethereum ETFs, ETHA and FETH, while the other products remained unchanged.

Market Implications and Expert Opinions

Despite the recent inflows, some experts previously noted a low interest from brokers in spot Bitcoin ETFs, which they believed led to decreased activity. However, the Chief Technical Officer of Bitwise contested this claim. In contrast, the Hong Kong market did not record any capital movements in either category of exchange-traded funds.
This resurgence in capital inflows for both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs indicates renewed interest and confidence in the market. As these trends continue to develop, they could potentially influence broader market dynamics and investor sentiment.
The recent capital influx in the spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs suggests a shift in market behavior, reflecting a renewed investor interest and confidence.
