In a recent survey conducted by Binance, a significant 65% of respondents in Ukraine consider cryptocurrencies to be an essential part of the country’s future economic development over the next five years. This survey involved 22,000 participants, reflecting a broad interest in the role of digital assets in the financial landscape.

The survey results indicate that over 53% of respondents believe that cryptocurrencies have become a crucial means to achieve financial freedom. Key advantages highlighted include independence from traditional financial institutions and protection against inflationary risks. Additionally, the speed and convenience of transactions were noted as significant benefits.

Financial Discipline: Binance noted that the use of cryptocurrencies has led to improved financial discipline among users. Half of the respondents reported an increase in their savings, while 30% mentioned that cryptocurrencies have helped them become more financially organized.

Regulation and Security

When it comes to regulation, opinions are divided. Approximately 55% of participants support partial regulation to ensure user safety, whereas 35% are in favor of full regulation of the crypto market.

Practical Uses of Crypto in Ukraine

Interestingly, 70% of those surveyed use cryptocurrencies for international transfers, highlighting the practical utility of digital assets in facilitating cross-border transactions. Additionally, 65% have supported charitable projects using crypto, demonstrating the broader social impact of these assets.

Global Context and Future Outlook

Referencing a report by the payment company Triple-A, Binance highlighted that by 2024, the number of cryptocurrency owners globally is expected to reach 562 million, about 6.8% of the world’s population. Currently, Binance hosts 38% of these users on its platform.

Kirill Khomyakov, Binance’s regional head in CEE, Central Asia, and Africa, remarked that cryptocurrencies have evolved from merely being a tool for preserving savings to becoming a critical component of Ukraine’s emerging digital economy. This sentiment is echoed by the fact that Ukraine consistently ranks in the top 20 countries for cryptocurrency usage.
