Historic Milestone: Base Network’s Active Users Reach 4 Million

The cryptocurrency world has been buzzing with excitement as the Base network recently achieved a remarkable feat. The number of active users in the Base network has soared to a historic high of 3.99 million, as confirmed by project founder Jesse Pollak. This surge in user activity is a significant milestone, reflecting the growing interest and engagement within the Base ecosystem.

Onchain Summer Campaign Fuels Growth

The unprecedented increase in active users can largely be attributed to the ongoing Onchain Summer campaign. This initiative, which began in June and is set to conclude on August 31, 2024, has been instrumental in driving user engagement. The campaign’s objective is to attract developers to the Base ecosystem, offering a generous prize pool, including grants totaling 600 ETH.

Weekly and Daily User Activity Peaks

During the week of August 12 to 18, 2024, the Base network witnessed a significant spike in active users, reaching an all-time high of 3.99 million. This impressive figure surpasses the previous record set in mid-July 2024, when the network had 3.75 million active users. Notably, the daily active users peaked on August 17, 2024, with 858,850 addresses engaging with the network.

Attracting Developers and Expanding the Ecosystem

The Onchain Summer campaign is not a new concept for the Base network. A similar initiative was conducted in 2023, during which 268,000 addresses minted over 700,000 NFTs in a month. The success of the previous campaign prompted the team to launch it again, aiming to further expand the ecosystem by attracting more developers.

Introducing Subdomains with Ethereum Name Service

In addition to the surge in user activity, the Base network has also introduced subdomains, a digital identifier based on the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) infrastructure. This new feature enhances the network’s functionality and provides users with a unique digital identity.
The Base network’s recent achievements underscore its growing prominence in the cryptocurrency space. The combination of strategic initiatives like the Onchain Summer campaign and innovative features such as ENS-based subdomains is driving significant user engagement and development within the ecosystem. As the campaign draws to a close, the lasting impact on the Base network and the broader crypto market remains to be seen, promising exciting developments ahead.
