Investors Criticize ZKX for Sudden Closure

The sudden closure of the ZKX project has sparked significant criticism from its investors and one of its market makers. A lack of transparency and poor communication from the project team are at the heart of the controversy.

Transparency and Communication Issues

Investors, including prominent firms such as HashKey Capital, Amber Group, and ArkStream Capital, have publicly criticized the project. They expressed shock at the closure news, pointing out that there had been no prior warning.

Ye Su, the founder of ArkStream Capital, stated, “As investors, we were not warned when ZKX shut down. The team claimed to have run out of funds and refused to provide financial documentation, cutting off communication afterward.”

Allegations of Misleading Practices

Similar sentiments were echoed by HashKey Capital, which also highlighted the absence of transparency and the team’s reluctance to communicate with investors. Amber Group, one of the project’s market makers, shared their experience during the Token Generation Event (TGE). The company received a loan of 2 million ZKX under standard conditions and continued to buy tokens even as prices fell to support the project.

On June 24, 2024, five days after the token’s market release, the ZKX team requested the return of 1 million ZKX, which Amber Group complied with, anticipating future benefits. However, the next communication from the team came on July 30, announcing the project’s closure. Amber Group still holds 3 million ZKX, with the fate of these tokens uncertain.

Concerns of a Rug Pull

Previously, ZKX developers were accused of conducting a rug pull. Crypto expert ZachXBT suggested that the team misled multiple users who invested in the token a month before the protocol’s closure. Since its market debut, the ZKX token’s price has dropped by over 99%, currently trading at $0.0034.

Market Impact

The abrupt closure of ZKX and the subsequent fallout have raised serious concerns about transparency and investor protection in the cryptocurrency market. This incident underscores the importance of diligent research and cautious investment decisions in an industry still grappling with regulatory challenges and potential fraudulent activities.
