- CryptoQuant said XRP’s estimated leverage ratio on Binance fell 26.2%, from 0.229 in September to about 0.169 over the past few days, indicating reduced use of leveraged positions.
- CryptoQuant also said the 90-day moving average of outflows from large XRP holders on Binance dropped to $49.7 million, its lowest level in five years, which may weaken whale-driven buy-side support but does not determine the direction of XRP’s price.
- The analysts said both metrics reflect changes in market participants’ behavior without providing a clear signal about XRP’s next price move.
CryptoQuant analysts reported declines in activity by large XRP holders on Binance and in leverage use in the derivatives market. The analysts said the changes could reduce liquidation risk and long-term support from large buyers, but cautioned that neither metric provides a clear-cut signal about the token’s next price move.
XRP leverage ratio falls 26.2%
XRP’s estimated leverage ratio on Binance fell from 0.229 in September to about 0.169 over the past few days, CryptoQuant said. The 26.2% decline in less than a month indicates that leveraged positions have decreased relative to the market.
CryptoQuant said the decline could mean derivatives traders are reducing risk by closing open positions or using less borrowed money. That shift could lower the risk of liquidations linked to leveraged positions.
However, the lower ratio does not necessarily indicate heavier selling or a change in the broader market trend, the analysts said. It also does not guarantee lower volatility because volatility depends on overall market conditions and the structure of positions that remain open.
CryptoQuant says whale outflows reached a five-year low
The 90-day moving average of outflows from large XRP holders on Binance fell to $49.7 million, according to CryptoQuant. The analysts said this was the lowest level in five years, with similar readings last recorded in October 2021.
In February 2025, when XRP traded near a local peak of about $3.3, the metric reached $3.5 billion. Binance recorded major spikes in whale outflows at the time, with the amount exceeding $10 billion on some days.
Activity by large holders has since fallen sharply. CryptoQuant suggested that whales may be waiting for more attractive prices before returning to the market. The analysts also said XRP’s resilience during the bear market may have limited opportunities to accumulate the token at prices available in 2022 and 2023.
Over the longer term, weaker activity from large buyers could reduce whale-driven price support for XRP, CryptoQuant said. However, the analysts cautioned that the decline does not necessarily point to further price losses, noting that trend reversals sometimes occur when trading volumes and interest in an asset are low.
