  • Early partners include Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital and VanEck Funds.

World, co-founded by Sam Altman, introduced its World ID for Banking and Finance toolset at the Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas, targeting banks, financial institutions and enterprise clients. The system is designed to verify identities, secure financial transactions and reduce AI-powered fraud, including deepfakes and identity spoofing in Zoom calls.

World co-founder Alex Blania announced the product, which combines technologies for identity checks, transaction security and interactions with AI agents. World detailed the toolset in a company announcement.

The toolset has three core components:

  • World ID App, a digital wallet for storing and presenting cryptographic proofs of identity;
  • World ID for Zoom, which verifies video-conference participants to protect against deepfakes and identity spoofing; and
  • World ID for Agents, which lets users delegate verified permissions to AI agents that interact with third-party services.

Early partners include Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital and VanEck Funds. The companies are exploring uses for the technology in financial operations and corporate processes. World has not disclosed the names of any banks directly using the product.

World ID for Zoom

World also announced the public release of World ID for Zoom after a limited beta test that began in April 2026. The technology allows video-conference participants to confirm that another participant is a real person rather than an AI-generated digital double.

The verification process compares three images of a user’s face: one captured during initial biometric enrollment with an Orb device, another taken with a smartphone and a third shown during a video call. A Verified Human badge appears beside the participant’s name after a successful check.

Meeting hosts can require identity verification before participants join or request verification during a call. Financial firms are also considering installing Orb devices in offices to enroll employees, Fortune reported.

World said the technology is intended to reduce fraud risks as deepfakes and automated AI systems become more widespread. More than 18 million people have received Proof of Human verification, according to The Block. World has not disclosed the price of the enterprise toolset.
