Assets under management in bStocks on Binance surpassed $1 billion four months after the product launched in June 2026. Binance Research called it the fastest result among products in the tokenized equities market, which it said has become the fastest-growing category of tokenized real-world assets in 2026.
Binance initially offered five tickers and has since expanded the lineup to nearly 100 instruments, including assets tied to artificial intelligence companies, the semiconductor industry and sector exchange-traded funds.
According to Binance Research, the tokenized equities market’s capitalization has risen 390.4% since the start of 2026. As of October, bStocks represented about a quarter of the market’s total capitalization.
Conversions exceed $6 billion
Binance allows eligible users to convert bStocks into the corresponding underlying shares and back at a 1:1 ratio without an additional conversion fee. Binance Research said the cumulative volume of those conversions exceeded $6 billion by October 2026, more than six times bStocks’ current AUM.
The conversion mechanism allows users to switch between the two formats depending on their strategy. They can trade bStocks outside standard U.S. stock market hours or withdraw the instruments to a compatible non-custodial wallet for use in onchain applications before converting them back into the underlying shares when needed.
BStocks are not shares in the relevant public companies and do not provide direct ownership rights in them. They are tokenized securities structured as certificates linked to specific financial assets.
Trading shifts beyond regular market hours
Only 42% of bStocks trading volume in August 2026 occurred during regular U.S. trading hours, compared with 89.2% for ordinary U.S. equities, according to Binance Research. The remaining 58% of bStocks volume occurred during pre-market, after-hours and overnight sessions, as well as weekends.
Binance Research said this structure allows users to respond to earnings reports, regulatory decisions and other significant events that often occur after U.S. exchanges close. Crypto-based infrastructure permits positions in tokenized instruments to be adjusted around the clock, rather than only according to traditional exchange schedules.
Use in onchain finance grows
Binance Research said 11.2% of bStocks usage occurred in onchain finance, about 3.8 percentage points above the average for tokenized stocks. One use case is posting the instruments as collateral for loans.
Outstanding loans backed by bStocks equaled 5.5% of the value of posted collateral at the end of June 2026. By Sept. 10, that ratio had risen to 46.2%, representing roughly $3.1 million in loans secured by $6.8 million in assets.
Across the broader tokenized stock sector, onchain transfer volume exceeded $100 billion in the third quarter of 2026, according to Binance Research, up from about $6 billion in the first quarter. The quarterly figure increased by more than 16 times.
At the peak of activity in early August, bStocks accounted for more than 90% of weekly onchain transfer volume for tokenized stocks. Binance Research said the figures reflected a shift from issuing tokenized instruments toward using them in trading, lending and other financial operations.
Crypto and traditional assets converge
By August 2026, 58.5% of early bStocks users had traded perpetual futures, regular stocks or both before making their first bStocks transaction, according to the study. Binance Research linked that share to growing interest in managing crypto and traditional financial instruments through a single platform.
Users can manage different asset classes through one account, convert tokenized instruments into underlying shares and trade outside standard exchange sessions. However, Binance Research said the tokenized equities market remains at an early stage, with about 0.0025% of the global stock market currently represented onchain.
In its base-case scenario, Binance Research estimated that the tokenized equities market could reach $349 billion by 2030. It said penetration of less than 1% of the global stock market could still produce significant expansion.
Binance views bStocks reaching $1 billion in AUM as evidence of demand for access to traditional financial instruments through crypto infrastructure. The company said further development would depend partly on product availability, a broader range of offerings and their uses in onchain finance.
BStocks tokenized securities are available only to users who meet established requirements, in approved jurisdictions and exclusively on the secondary market.
