Significant Decline in NFT Sales

The NFT market faced a severe downturn in June 2024, with monthly sales plummeting from $141.6 million to a mere $23.78 million, representing an 83.2% decline. This information, provided by CryptoSlam, highlights a significant shift in the market dynamics.

Decreasing Floor Prices

During this period, the floor prices of major NFT collections such as Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Pudgy Penguins fell below the 10 ETH mark. As of June 18, the floor prices for these collections were 9.2 ETH and 8.55 ETH, respectively, as reported by Blur.

Consistent Transaction Volumes

Despite the sharp decline in sales, the number of transactions remained relatively stable, ranging between 1.3 million to 1.4 million. For context, transaction volumes in April and May consistently exceeded 2 million, with February reaching 2.5 million.

Market Performance Analysis

The early part of this week, from June 16-18, saw a further drop in floor prices of blue-chip NFTs. Among the top five NFT collections on the marketplace, only Milady showed positive growth, indicating selective resilience within the sector.

Previous Market Trends

Interestingly, earlier in June 2024, reports indicated that the NFT sales volume for the preceding 30 days was $599 million, with $171 million attributed to the Bitcoin network. This sharp contrast underscores the volatility and rapid shifts within the NFT market.
The dramatic drop in NFT sales and floor prices in June 2024 highlights the volatile nature of the cryptocurrency landscape. This trend poses significant implications for investors and market participants, signaling a need for cautious optimism and strategic market analysis moving forward.
