Open Standard has announced the launch of its Open USD stablecoin, or OUSD, which is now available to businesses and developers. The launch allows them to use OUSD to build financial products and services.
According to the team, OUSD is designed for banking services, cross-border payments, settlements and institutional trading. Users can mint and redeem the tokens at a 1:1 rate to the U.S. dollar without fees, the team said.
OUSD integration is available through BVNK, Stripe and the Visa Stablecoin Platform. Coinbase support launches on October 1, 2026. The available tools cover payments, trading, foreign exchange, wallets, cards and settlements.
The stablecoin runs natively on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo. OUSD will also be listed on centralized and decentralized venues, beginning with Coinbase, Kraken and Uniswap.
Bridge, a platform owned by Stripe, issues OUSD. Its reserves are held at BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY, and the company plans to publish reserve reports monthly.
Open Standard said more than 200 financial institutions, fintech companies, banks and other participants have joined the initiative. Partners can earn rewards based on OUSD volume and activity generated through their platforms.
