OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Space alongside Dots as a shared workspace that brings together several tools unveiled at DevDay 2026. According to the company, the hub stores project knowledge contributed by people and AI agents, while ChatGPT organizes the space based on users’ instructions.
OpenAI’s help center describes Space as a “home for your pages, uploaded files, and other work in ChatGPT.” For accounts with access, Space replaces the Library section. Projects remains a separate feature for organizing chats, files and instructions.
Collaborative tools
Pages are collaborative documents that teams of people and agents can edit. Users can create a page from a conversation or template, or start from scratch. ChatGPT can edit text, add charts and insert interactive elements.
Collaborative Slides allows multiple people and agents to work on a presentation simultaneously. Completed slides can be presented within ChatGPT or exported to PowerPoint and Google Slides. The feature will roll out in the coming weeks.
Space also lets users group colleagues into teams and assign repetitive work to ChatGPT, including weekly reports. Team tasks can run on a schedule or in response to an event.
A Meetings plugin automatically takes notes during meetings, prepares personalized summaries and saves them to Space. The audio recording is deleted after the notes are created.
Sharing and access
Collaboration in Space works like standard cloud-document services. Users can share an individual page or an entire space and grant viewing or editing permissions. Each participant works through their own ChatGPT account, and access to a page does not provide access to its author’s personal chats or memory.
For Dots, Space serves as a shared knowledge base. OpenAI said that in Space, “colleagues, ChatGPT, and each participant’s Dot work with the same body of project knowledge.”
Space is available on Pro, Business and Enterprise plans in ChatGPT’s desktop app and web version. On mobile devices, users can view and forward pages but cannot edit them.
