Arbitrum Foundation Allocates 225 Million ARB to Boost Blockchain Gaming

In a significant move for the blockchain gaming sector, the Arbitrum Foundation has announced the allocation of 225 million ARB, equivalent to approximately $214 million at the time of writing. This investment aims to support blockchain gaming projects over the next three years through the Gaming Catalyst Program (GCP). This initiative garnered over 75% support from Arbitrum DAO participants.

Increased Investment for Greater Impact

Initially proposed in March 2024, the foundation planned to invest 200 million ARB. However, the amount was later increased to 225 million ARB, reflecting the growing confidence in the sector. The decision to increase the funding was solidified on June 7, with the vast majority of the Arbitrum DAO backing the initiative.

Support and Resources for Developers

The primary goal of the GCP is to provide support and resources to developers interested in advancing the Arbitrum network. According to the foundation’s statement, this includes access to funding, mentorship from experienced experts, and other forms of assistance to accelerate development and ensure market success post-launch.

Funding Allocation Breakdown

Out of the total 225 million ARB, 160 million ARB will be dedicated to developers, while 40 million ARB will be reserved for infrastructure rewards. Additional funds will cover operational expenses and the salaries of the GCP team, which consists of five members who will oversee daily operations.
