  • X has launched the Cashtag Partner Program in the United States for stocks, exchange-traded funds and cryptocurrencies.
  • The feature matters because it connects asset discussions and market data on X with third-party platforms where users can execute trades.
  • Partners include Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken and Coinbase.

Social network X announced the U.S. launch of its Cashtag Partner Program. The program links posts and market data for stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies to Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken and Coinbase.

The feature allows users to move from discussing an asset and viewing its price data on X to trading through one of the participating platforms. X acts as a gateway and does not execute trades; transactions take place through the selected broker or cryptocurrency exchange.

How the Cashtag Partner Program works

Users can tap a supported asset cashtag in the X feed to open a page displaying a price chart and related posts. Selecting the Trade button prompts the user to continue to one of the program’s partners.

The user must then log in or create an account on the broker’s or cryptocurrency exchange’s website or app before placing a trade on that platform.

In August 2026, former X head of product Nikita Bier announced the rollout of trading buttons for cryptocurrencies. Bier said at the time that X intended to rely on third-party services to process transactions.

X expands its financial features

Cashtags became part of X’s financial infrastructure in early 2026. In January 2026, Incrypted reported that the company was preparing Smart Cashtags, a feature designed to track stock and cryptocurrency prices within the social network.

Smart Cashtags allow users to link a ticker to a specific asset or smart contract and view its price, charts and related posts.

X is developing Cashtags alongside other financial features, including the X Money payments service. The company is building those products as part of its broader strategy to turn the platform into an “everything app.”
