- The exchange reported a 45% increase in institutional clients’ net assets between Q3 2025 and Q2 2026.
Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget marked its eighth year of operations with CEO Gracy Chen’s review of the past 12 months, highlighting the platform’s development toward its Universal Exchange, or UEX, model. The strategy matters because Bitget aims to offer cryptocurrencies, U.S. stocks, commodities and currencies through a single account and shared trading infrastructure.
Chen said Bitget had focused over the past year on building unified infrastructure for trading different asset classes within a single user experience. The company described UEX as a response to a fragmented market in which users often need multiple accounts and platforms and face differing restrictions.
Bitget expands multi-asset products
In the year since it unveiled UEX, Bitget said it had introduced several industry initiatives. The exchange said it became the first major platform to offer perpetual contracts on stocks, onchain token trading from a spot account through Bitget Onchain, subscriptions and secondary trading for tokenized Pre-IPO offerings, and a unified multi-asset account that supports tokenized U.S. stocks as margin collateral.
The company also highlighted options on U.S. stocks, Quanto contracts on Hong Kong stocks and GetClaw, an autonomous artificial-intelligence trading agent that requires no installation. Other products cited in its review included rToken and the UTA multi-asset account.
Bitget said non-crypto assets accounted for as much as 40% of its total trading volume at their peak. In some segments, daily volume in perpetual contracts and contracts for difference tied to traditional financial assets exceeded $10 billion, covering stocks, gold, oil and currencies.
According to the company, rToken recorded more than 3 million cumulative transactions, and one in four new Bitget users begins with the product. The rToken lineup supports more than 1,000 assets, while traditional-finance contracts cover more than 300 instruments and CFDs cover nearly 100 pairs.
Bitget also received a 2026 Online Trading Expo award for best global multi-asset trading platform. The company said the award represented its first major industry recognition in traditional finance.
Institutional business and expansion plans
Bitget said institutional clients’ net assets increased by 45% between Q3 2025 and Q2 2026. The number of key active market makers rose by 176%, from 90 to 248 firms.
For its next phase, the exchange plans to expand its API infrastructure, prime brokerage, quantitative trading, VIP services and institutional products. It also intends to scale the rToken ecosystem with dividends, recurring investments and lending, while further integrating the UTA multi-asset account.
“The era of multi-asset trading is only just beginning,” Chen said.
