1inch, a decentralized finance ecosystem, has released a digital edition of reDeFine Money on Written.app following a limited print debut at ETHConf NY in June 2026. The company told Incrypted that it will donate 100% of profits from digital-edition sales on the platform to a selected education-focused charity.

According to 1inch, reDeFine Money offers a first-person account of decentralized finance. Written.app allows each digital copy to exist as a non-fungible token that records its provenance on the blockchain.

Pricing and limited editions

The standard digital edition costs $9.99. Ten limited-edition copies, each with a unique NFT cover, are available for $149.99 apiece.

“By its nature, DeFi is transparent, but most of the story behind it has never been told. reDeFine Money pulls back the curtain on the people, decisions, and events that shaped the industry — the good, the bad, and the ugly. Today, we are making these stories accessible to everyone, turning them into something positive, because our profits will help the next generation write its own story,” 1inch co-founder Sergey Kunz said.

DeFi founders recount the industry’s history

The book includes interviews with Kunz; Aave founder Stani Kulechov; Curve founder and CEO Mikhail Egorov; MakerDAO co-founder Rune Christensen; Dune co-founder Fredrik Haga; Synthetix founder and Infinex co-founder Kain Warwick; and Eowyn Chen, the former CEO of Trust Wallet who now serves as chief marketing officer at Binance.

According to 1inch, reDeFine Money is not a technical manual but reads as a collective memoir. It recounts how idealists, hackers and outsiders built a parallel financial system through bubbles, hacks, forks, crashes, rethinks and breakthroughs.

The book gives particular attention to the 2022 crypto crash. It contrasts the collapse of centralized intermediaries including Three Arrows Capital, Celsius and FTX with the continued operation of many decentralized protocols.

“Books explain the world and give us a deep understanding of what is happening around us. They even let us peek into the future. And, contrary to popular belief, there is room for new technologies in publishing,” Written CEO Andrew Bayev said.

Bayev said releasing a digital edition of a DeFi book on Written made sense, including in the form of NFTs that record the book’s provenance on the blockchain. He described the model not as an experiment but as the foundation of Written’s platform.

Availability

reDeFine Money is available on Written.app. Print copies are available at events attended by 1inch.

Users who registered to receive a free PDF of the book will receive an email explaining how to open it on Written.app.
